Summary of TOSC Interaction with Community
In June 1999 the S&SW TAB program presented a two-and-one-half day Phase I
Environmental Site Assessment training seminar to the City of Houston's City
Planning Department and communities in the Houston metropolitan area.
Approximately 20 people attended the program which provided information on the
Phase I process, legal and regulatory drivers, technical issues including
assessing property for various contaminants, and a mock assessment field exercise
for participants to put into practice the lessons learned in the classroom. This
training program was coordinated by TAB, Houston's City Planning Department and
by Western Fifth Ward Community Services.
