Site description
The residents of the Boyer Community of Holly Hill are concerned about potential environmental contamination and health impacts from three concrete plants and one fiberboard plant located around the community.
Summary of TOSC Interaction with Community
TOSC has been working with the Boyer Community since January 2001, initially with environmental justice concerns, and more recently with concerns over the possible environmental impacts of concrete and fiberboard plants in the area. TOSC has provided the community with information on Title V Operating Permits and air permitting processes in general. TOSC has reviewed and provided comments to the community on draft Title V operating permits for the fiberboard plant and two of the concrete plants. In March 2002, TOSC attended a Title V public hearing at the community's request. TOSC has also provided the community with a summary regulatory database for regulated facilities surrounding the area and TRI data summaries for two of the concrete plants.
