Summary of assistance

TAB was contacted by the Greensboro, NC, Department of Housing and Community Development to provide an overview of North Carolina's brownfield programs, and to provide information on environmental site assessments for brownfield properties. Greensboro was awarded an EPA hazardous substance assessment grant in 2003 to assess a 10 acre, three block area of vacant industrial and commercial sites.

TAB produced a short summary of North Carolina's voluntary cleanup program, the Brownfields Property Reuse Act, cleanup standards, contaminant-specific programs, and the State's brownfield redevelopment process.
