Summary of assistance
TAB was contacted by Fort Valley relating to assistance with redevelopment of a theatre in town. Fort Valley has a brownfield pilot, awarded in 1998. The theatre contaminated with lead and arsenic dust, asbestos, lead-based paint, and bird droppings. The City is in the process of getting bids to cleanup the theatre, and is interested in having TAB provide some land-use planning for the theatre. TAB activities will include trying to identify sources of redevelopment funding, including the Superfund Redevelopment Initiative.
